This year the Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Young Adult Team is planning a series of special programs for Teen Read Week 2009 in October. We would like to call your attention to these activities now at the onset of the school year.

The first event and the one I would like to bring to your attention now is the T-Shirt Design Contest. The contest begins on August 24 and runs thru September 11, 2009. We are seeking an original design in black and white reflecting our theme Read Beyond Reality. This year we will award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. Each will receive a gift card to a local art supply store and the first place winner will have their design printed on t-shirts. These t-shirts will be distributed to Miami-Dade County teens.
