M W S’s Art Scholarship Awards

The Art Scholarship Awards will provide financial support to three successful students who plan to study visual arts, art education, or an art-related major in college.

 Cash and gift cards to be awarded at the end of the 2012/2013 school year
 Open to public and private school students in the 11th and 12th grades
 Scholarships to be awarded to students based on their portfolios as judged by MWS members and community based artists
 Art teachers of scholarship winning students will be awarded merchandise gift cards

2012/2013 Miami Watercolor Society’s Art Scholarship Awards

NUMBER OF AWARDS: 3 students will receive the following awards

1st place: $1,000 cash paid directly to the student’s post high school educational institution of their choice & $150 art merchandise gift card.

2nd place: $500 cash paid directly to the student’s post high school educational institution of their choice & $100 art merchandise gift card.

3rd place: $300 cash paid directly to the student’s post high school educational institution of their choice & $75 art merchandise gift card.

ELIGIBILITY
A. 2.5 GPA overall
B. 3.0 GPA art curriculum
C. Juniors and Seniors
D. Continuing his/her education in an art-related major after high school graduation
E. Private and Public Schools

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS
Five original artworks created in WATER MEDIA ONLY. Each piece must be matted in white. Surface must be watercolor paper. Image size minimum: 12”x12” Maximum: 22”x30”

B. Landscape
C. Still life
D. Abstract
E. Student’s choice

Miami Watercolor Society’s Art Scholarship Awards for Fall 2013
The Miami Watercolor Society is proud to offer three art scholarship awards* this year!
The details:
• The scholarship is a one-time cash award for either $1000, $500 or $300 paired with a merchandise award (gift card) from an art supplier for either $150, $100 or $75.
• The scholarship will be awarded based solely on the merits of a portfolio (requirements attached).
• Eleventh and twelfth grade students who plan to major in visual arts, art education or an art-related curriculum in college are eligible to enter.
• Students must have a 2.5 GPA overall cumulative GPA and 3.0 GPA in art courses.
• Every student who enters will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Miami Watercolor Society.
