Art I Basel I Miami Beach I 3-6 I 12 I 09

Felix Varela Art students have the distinct honor of attending Art Basel 2009 at Miami Beach this coming Thursday, December 3rd.

Varela arts students from various art classes will be attending the most prestigious art show worldwide for the past 40 years. Art Basel Miami Beach combines an international selection of top galleries with an exciting program of special exhibitions, parties and crossover events featuring music, film, architecture and design. Exhibition sites are located in the city's beautiful Art Deco District, within walking distance of the beach and many hotels.

Art Basel Miami Beach is the most important art show in the United States, a cultural and social highlight for the Americas and sister event of Switzerland's Art Basel!

Rules and Regulations:
  • There must be one chaperone per group of 10 students
  • Cameras will not be permitted at the fair and should be left at home or deposited at the coat check at Info Zone B. Only accredited journalists are allowed to take pictures at the fair.
  • Backpacks and book bags will not be permitted at the fair and shold be left at home or deposited at the coat check at Info Zone B. Backpacks and book bags could easily hit against an artwork and thereby pose a threat.
  • Sketch pads are not allowed in teh exhibition halls. Students are not permitted to sketch works as they would obstruct the visitor flow.
  • No touch policy! Students must be carefully supervised and instructed never to touch the artwork.
  • Students should be mindful of other visitors and keep their voices to a respectable volume;
  • There is no running or playing permitted at the fair.
